Backups & Moving PCs

Everything you set up stays on your PC. It’s never kept on Phalanx’s server. These tools in Settings > Backup let you save it and move it.

  • Export saves the parts you pick to a file: Profiles, Proxies, Tasks, Accounts, IMAP Accounts, Harvesters, Captcha Providers, Checkouts and Settings.
  • Import brings a saved file back in. What’s in the file replaces those parts here.

Copies the parts you pick straight from one of your PCs to another, over a direct connection. Nothing passes through or stays on Phalanx’s server.

  1. On the PC that should get the data: Receive From Another PC. It shows a one-time code.
  2. On the PC that has the data: Send To Another PC, pick the parts, and enter the code. It shows the name of the PC you’re sending to.
  3. Back on the receiving PC, accept the transfer. Those parts are replaced, and a copy of what was there before is kept.

Your license and the encryption setting on the receiving PC stay as they are.

Locks your saved data to this PC and your user account on it, so the file is useless if it’s copied off.

  • It’s off unless you switch it on.
  • Encrypted data won’t open on another PC. Move it with Send To Another PC or Export, not by copying files.
  • On a Mac, the Keychain may ask for your password when Phalanx opens.
